YBhg Dato' Hamzah Bakar – Chairman

YBhg Dato’ Hamzah Bakar, a Malaysian, was appointed an Independent Non-Executive Director on 14 November 2002. He was appointed as Chairman of Valuecap Sdn Bhd on 15 June 2011.

YBhg Dato’ Hamzah holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Economics from the Queen’s University of Belfast and a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy and Administration, with Development Economics, from the University of Wisconsin, USA.

Currently, he is Chairman of SapuraCrest Petroleum Berhad, CIMB Investment Bank Berhad and Gas Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. He is also an Independent Director of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad.

He served 20 years in various senior management and Board positions in Petroliam Nasional Berhad (“Petronas”), including Senior Vice President for Refining and Marketing, Senior Vice President for Corporate Planning & Development and Main Board Director. Prior to Petronas, he was a Director of the Economic Planning Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department.

YBhg Dato' Azian Mohd Noh – Non-Executive Director

YBhg Dato' Azian Mohd Noh, a Malaysian, was appointed as Non-Executive Director of Valuecap Sdn. Bhd. on 19 November 2003, representing Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP).  She is also a member of Valuecap’s Audit Committee and Remuneration and Nomination Committee.

YBhg Dato' Azian holds a Masters in Business Administration (University Kebangsaan Malaysia), Bachelor of Economics (University of Malaya) and Advance Diploma in Accounting (University of Malaya). She is also a member of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants.

She is currently the CEO of KWAP, a position she held since March 2007 following the corporatisation of Kumpulan Wang Amanah Pencen. Her extensive experience in the public service spanned over 27 years where she started her career as a Treasury Accountant at the Accountant General’s Department and Ministry of Public Enterprise, Senior Accountant of Kraftangan Malaysia (1982-1985) and Deputy Director of Finance of SIRIM.  Prior to joining KWAP, she was at the Accountant General’s Department in 1991 as Deputy Director and subsequently promoted to Director of KWAP in 1997. She currently sits on the Board of Malakoff Corporation Berhad and is Chairman of i-VCAP Management Sdn. Bhd.

Encik Wan Roshdi bin Wan Musa – Non-Executive Director

Encik Wan Roshdi Wan Musa, a Malaysian, was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Valuecap Sdn. Bhd. on 27 July 2006, representing the interest of  Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB).  He is also a member of the Investment Committee of Valuecap.

Encik Wan Roshdi holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Governors State University, United States of America (USA), Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Northern Illinois, USA, and Diploma in Accountancy from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia.  He is also a qualified Certified Financial Planner (CFP).  Started his career in 1985 at the Corporate Finance and Corporate Services Department of PNB, he is currently the Senior Vice-President II at the Investment Division, PNB, responsible in supervising the equity valuations, equity trading and portfolio management of the proprietary and unit trust funds. He also sits on the Board of Directors of several companies.

Encik Hisham Hamdan - Non-Executive Director

Encik Hisham, a Malaysian, was appointed Non-Executive Director of Valuecap Sdn Bhd on 27 May 2011, representing Khazanah Nasional Berhad.

Encik Hisham is currently an Executive Director of Investments at Khazanah. He was formerly with Sime Darby where he served for over six years and assumed several senior positions, covering strategy and business development, healthcare, energy & utilities and special projects.

Encik Hisham also has 12 years of capital markets experience in equity research and investment banking. He started his career as a process engineer in the US. He holds two degrees in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Management from Purdue University, in the US. He has also attended the Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Programme. 

Encik Md Ali Md Dewal – Independent Non-Executive Director

Encik Md Ali Md Dewal, a Malaysian, was appointed an Independent Non-Executive Director of Valuecap Sdn. Bhd. on 25 October 2002.   He is also the Chairman of Valuecap’s Audit  Committee.

Encik Md Ali Md Dewal obtained a Master of Business Administration majoring in Corporate Finance from Tulane University, New Orleans, USA and also AISP Diploma in Estate Management.

He has wide experience in both industrial and financial sectors. He is a Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of UEM Land Holdings Bhd.

YBhg Dato’ Dr Aziuddin Ahmad – Independent Non-Executive Director

YBhg Dato’ Dr. Aziuddin Ahmad, a Malaysian, was appointed an Independent Non-Executive Director of Valuecap Sdn. Bhd. on 26 September 2007. He is the Chairman of the Remuneration and Nomination Committee and member of the Audit Committee of Valuecap.

YBhg Dato’ Dr Aziuddin holds a PhD in Reactor Neutron Physics (University of London), Masters in Nuclear Reactor Science & Engineering (University of London), B. Sc. (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (University of London).  He was also awarded the Cameron Waller Prize in Law while reading law in Kings College, London.

Since March 2007, he is a Professor at the Graduate School of Management Universiti Putra Malaysia, having left the private sector after more than 20 years.  He was an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Engineering Universiti Putra Malaysia & Centre for Civilizational Dialogue University of Malaya. He was a member of the Investment Panel at Lembaga Tabung Haji since October 2001 until his recent retirement in September 2007. 

He has wide experience in the financial services sector where he served as a Director at Amanah Raya Asset Management Sdn Bhd, Group Financial Advisor of Sapura Holdings Sdn Bhd.  He was also a Director at Malaysia Mining Corporation Bhd, Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd, Eastern Pacific Industrial Corporation Bhd, AlBukhary Corporation Sdn Bhd, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd and MEMS Technology Bhd. 

Encik Khairil Anuar Abdullah - Independent Non-Executive Director

Encik Khairil, a Malaysian, was appointed as an Independent non-Executive Director of Valuecap Sdn Bhd on 14 June 2011. He is also the Chairman of the Investment Committee and member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committee of Valuecap.

He is currently Chairman of Pantai Holdings Bhd and Director of Symphony House Bhd, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd, Chennai and Parkway Pantai Ltd.

Encik Khairil served in the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister's Department between 1973 and 1982. From 1983 to 1988, he held various positions in the Guthrie Group. In 1988, he became a Director of Arthur D. Little (Malaysia) Inc, and Managing Director of Batu Lintang Rubber Company Bhd. He was appointed as Director of Research and Development of the Securities Commission in 1993, and served as founding Chairman of Mesdaq Bhd from 1997 to 2002.

Encik Khairil went to school at the Royal Military College, read economics in the University of Malaya and graduated with an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a fellow of the Association of Banks, and a life member of the Malaysian Economics Association and the Malaysian Nature Society.
