Who We Are

Our Vision

To be a leading investment house, highly competitive and delivering profitable growth.

Our History

ValueCAP Sdn Bhd (“ValueCAP” or “Company”) was incorporated on 16th October 2002 as an investment holding company principally involved in investments in listed securities on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”). ValueCAP is equally-owned by Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan), and Permodalan Nasional Berhad.

Upon the commencement of its operations in 2003, ValueCAP started managing proprietary investments – i.e. investments of its own funds – as mandated by its shareholders. Initially funded by RM5.1 billion from its shareholders, the average annual return on funds managed by ValueCAP since inception over a 10-year period was in excess of 11%, with the equity portion of the fund consistently outperforming benchmark returns. ValueCAP's assets under management (“AUM”) peaked at over RM17.2 billion in 2010.

The Company’s strong investment performance since inception had enabled ValueCAP to return cash to its shareholders in the form of dividends in excess of RM8 billion over the period. Following this, ValueCAP’s business model transformed into that of a holding company with investments in two licensed asset management companies, i.e. i-VCAP Management Sdn Bhd (“i-VCAP”) and VCAP Asset Managers Sdn Bhd (“VCAM”).

The Malaysian Government’s announcement in September 2015 that the Company would be allocated RM20 billion specifically for the domestic capital market saw ValueCAP’s role as an institutional investor in the market reemerge.

Today, a premier investment house, the Group manages not only proprietary funds, but also non-proprietary i.e. third party mandates via its two wholly-owned licensed asset management companies, VCAM and i-VCAP. The Group’s asset management business has achieved many firsts by launching innovative products and offerings across the conventional and Shariah-compliant asset management space.

Backed by almost 15 years of expertise in portfolio management, ValueCAP aims to provide superior long-term returns to its shareholders while continuing to play a developmental role in supporting Malaysia’s capital market by creating sustainable value through investing and people.
