As long-term value investors, Valuecap takes a long-term approach to research - at both the micro and macro levels. Fundamentals-driven and backed by quantitative financial and economic models, long-term views borne thereupon avoid the portfolio from being unduly influenced by short-term trends whilst providing the confidence to take contrarian positions where necessary.

Equity markets are inherently inefficient and price-inefficiency is typically greatest at the security-level. Findings from independent research and analysis – rigorously discussed internally, helps form opinions on the fair values of these securities.

These in turn are used to exploit the afore-mentioned price inefficiencies to add value to Valuecap’s portfolios and ensure their superior long-term performance.
